(EN) UV VIRTUAL CLASSROOM: Reject the inclusion of a document in the UV anti-plagiarism database

Since January 1, 2025, Strike Plagiarism is the new plagiarism detection system at the University of Valencia, replacing the previous program Urkund.

A common question among the university community is whether a document analyzed is automatically included in the plagiarism detection database. This means that sometimes, when analyzing the same document again, the plagiarism percentage is extremely high because it is being compared to its previous version already stored in the database.

The IT Service has created a step-by-step guide to prevent a document from being automatically uploaded to the database through two different methods.

1. From antiplagio.uv.es

Log in to http://antiplagio.uv.es with your University of Valencia credentials.

Upload the document you want to analyze:

Subir_Documento.JPG

Enter the document details and make sure the option to upload the document to the database without verification is image-20250708-092348.png UNCHECKED:

Analizar_sin_subir.png

If this option is left active, the document will be uploaded to the plagiarism detection database.

If you analyze a Final Degree Project (TFG) or any document and do not reject its inclusion in the database, when analyzing another version of that document later, the plagiarism percentage will be very high because it will be compared to the previous version.

You must reject analyzed documents that you do not want to be uploaded to the plagiarism detection database.

Statuses of uploaded documents

  • image-20250707-091203.png - The document is being analyzed, and you will receive an email when the analysis is complete.

  • image-20250707-091107.png - The document has been rejected and will not be added to the database.

  • image-20250707-091255.png - The document has been analyzed and will be uploaded to the database 30 days after uploading it for analysis.

  • image-20250707-091307.png - The document is in the process of being uploaded to the database and is not yet used for plagiarism comparisons with other documents.

  • image-20250707-091324.png - The document has been uploaded to the database and is used as reference material for plagiarism comparisons.

Documents that should not be uploaded to the plagiarism database must be rejected within a maximum of 30 days from their upload.

Steps to reject a document

Documents with a image-20250707-091255.png green icon will be uploaded automatically to the database.

Locate the document with the image-20250707-091255.png green icon that you do not want to be uploaded to the database and click on the three dots in the actions column.

From the options, click on "Reject document":

After this action, the status icon will turn redimage-20250707-105718.png , indicating the document will not be uploaded to the database.

2. From the Virtual Classroom

Access the resource containing the plagiarism plugin where the document was analyzed:

Make sure option number 10 is marked as "manually after verification":

Marking this option means the document will not be uploaded automatically, as uploading requires a manual action.

As with http://antiplagio.uv.es , 30 days after uploading a document, it will automatically be added to the plagiarism database.
