(EN) Conditions for installing Windows 10 from AULES project in UV computer

• The operating systems (OS) that the AULES group installs on physical computers (whether Linux Ubuntu or Windows) are designed as connection terminals, so they are configured with a set of minimal, commonly used programs. The specialized and licensed software for teaching is installed on Windows/Linux Ubuntu virtual remote desktop systems. This allows access to this software from outside the UV through the link https://escritorio.uv.es . (in this case it is required to use the VPN connection).
  
  
• Before installing Windows 10 from AULES on a computer, it is necessary to register the MAC address of the computer's network card in our system (to install Linux Ubuntu on a computer it is not necessary to register the MAC address in our system) . The center or CAU operator can send a message to our email inbox (aules@uv.es), indicating the MAC address of the equipment's network card.

• The installation of AULES operating systems on a computer is carried out through an unattended installation (PXE) carried out by center or CAU operators.

• Installation using disk cloning tools is not allowed, since modern Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems have unique security identifiers (SID), and if cloned there would be several computers with the same SID on the same network, generating management problems of the AULES platform.

• The AULES operators assigned to each campus must supervise the first installation of Windows 10 of AULES on a production computer, checking that all the computer's hardware resources are recognized by the OS. If any hardware resource does not work, it would be necessary to send the computer to the SIUV facilities, in Burjassot, to update the drivers installed in our distribution.

• If a center wants to make a purchase of new equipment, it is necessary that they send a sample/pilot equipment to the SIUV facilities before the final purchase, so that we can validate that the hardware is compatible with the Windows 10 OS distributed by AULES and with the operating system image distribution system (via PXE)

• Requests to install teaching software on this operating system will not be accepted.

• Windows system updates are automatic and will be carried out when the computer is shut down.

• If it is necessary to install a peripheral on a piece of equipment (printer, whiteboard, etc.), you must contact the CAU operator in the first instance, receiving support from the AULES operator if necessary, for the installation of the peripheral on site. The provision of drivers and material falls on the center or CAU operators, who manage/maintain the computers.

• Only users with a UVEG account (students, PDI, PAS and approved external staff) may use these computers.

• No backup copies will be made of the contents of the user folders and the UV is not responsible for the loss of temporary data that is stored in said folder. At any time you can proceed to delete user folders for reasons of need for the service. Users must limit the use of these folders to teaching sessions and manage their data once these are finished.

• Changing the base software installed in our AULES Windows 10 operating system will involve reinstalling the image unattended (via PXE) on the computers.

 GRADES:

• In some places on the UV network there are problems with unattended installation. On these sites, it will be necessary to place an Unmanaged Ethernet Switch to complete the installation.

• Although in principle only users with UV accounts will be able to use these computers, center administrators can generate ephemeral accounts for specific uses (Conferences, external speakers, ...).

• A local administrator account may be provided for specific cases to operators, under their full responsibility.
