(EN) DISCO - SERVICES. SPACES. How to connect

DISCO Service

virtual DISCO space allows you to store your data files in a secure place, conveniently accessible from any computer on the network, and through different methods to connect to your content (web, network, etc ...) This provides a space of auxiliary and additional storage to the data carriers of your devices, whose main utility is to free you from backup units (CD's, USB's, etc ...), and from which backup copies are also made, which guarantee the availability and recovery of data in case of loss. In the university environment, in addition to having personal storage spaces, we can have DISCO storage spaces for work groups with different purposes (administrative, research, etc ...)

The DISCO service of the UV therefore allows you to share and access your data from anywhere in the network .
DISCO keeps your data safe and copies them regularly .
DISCO allows you to create collaborative spaces with other users of the university.

All the spaces can be accessed through the Web, connecting them as a Windows network unit, as an AppleShare MacIntosh unit or using an FTP client.

The spaces can be of different types.

You can create a WEB space to publish your documents in the network, and a DISCO space that is like a virtual disk only for you and accessible only with your username and password.

All the spaces of the groups you belong to will appear as subspaces of your individual space and you can access them all in reading and writing (if you are authorized) by typing your username and password once .

If you are the administrator of a group, you can register and download three different types of users in your group: editors (who can read and write), readers (who can only read) and Webauts (who can modify the spaces WWW).

If you have any questions, first check the documentation that we provide you with the most frequently asked questions about the DISCO spaces and UV web pages, and other additional information that will surely make you optimize the use of your storage resources
